If you’ve been reading my recent blog posts, you’ll have learned about my struggles leading up to launching EVEDARE. I used to daydream about being able to call myself the CEO of my own company and sometimes I still have to pinch myself to believe it’s finally true!
Achieving my dreams is quite honestly the best feeling in the world, and part of my reason for starting EVEDARE was to help other women experience this feeling too. That’s why for this week’s blog post, I’d like to share the top 6 habits of successful businesswomen.
- Get a coach
Getting a coach is an amazing way to gain an outside perspective from someone who knows you and your business well. But don’t take it from me, take it from one of the most famous billionaires on the planet...
If Bill Gates needs a coach, then perhaps us mere mortals should consider getting one too! Even the former CEO of Google, Eric Schmidt, has said the best advice he ever received was to get a coach.
- Write down your goals
If you really want to get ahead of the pack, write down your goals. Seriously, it’s science! A study conducted by Dr. Gail Matthews found that people who write down their goals are 42% more likely to achieve them!
- Use positive language
Have you ever met a successful person who is constantly complaining? Nope, me neither! Using positive language is the first step to rewiring your thoughts, which ultimately rewire your actions.
And this includes things you say about yourself! Using positive words to describe yourself is a sure fire way to boost your confidence, and as I always say: Nothing is more powerful than a confident woman!

- Never stop learning
In a world that is ever-changing, don’t get left behind when those around you are keeping up! Whether it be through online courses, attending seminars or taking time off to go to grad school, successful women know there is always more to learn.
- Prioritizing self-care
Drink enough water. Get enough sleep. Meditate. Exercise. Relax. Have fun! Going at 100% every second of the day isn’t doing you any favors in the long run. Remember, if you burn out, you’re only going to be out of the game for even longer. Taking an hour every day to care for yourself isn’t selfish - it’s necessary to long term success.
- Be consistent and never give up
Show up every day, no matter what comes your way. No matter how many times you fail.
JK Rowling was rejected by 12 different publishers before Harry Potter became one of the best known books in history. Oprah Winfrey was fired from her job as a TV reporter because they thought she was “unfit for TV.” Even Madonna and Lady Gaga were rejected by record labels before becoming superstars.
Do you think that stopped them?
